In a remarkable display of unity and environmental responsibility, employees from Central One Bataan came together to support the Limay Bataan PNP in their initiative to collect plastic bottles for oil spill absorption. This simple yet impactful project aims to repurpose plastic waste into an essential tool for cleaning up oil spills, helping to mitigate environmental damage while promoting recycling and waste reduction.
The oil spill occurred along the coastal area of Limay, Bataan, in August 2024. This unfortunate incident posed a serious threat to marine life, the local ecosystem, and nearby communities that rely on the sea for livelihood. Quick response and collaboration between various sectors became crucial in minimizing the environmental impact.
As part of this collective effort, employees eagerly participated in the collection of plastic bottles, which will be utilized as absorbers in cleaning the affected waters. These bottles serve as a core material in creating makeshift oil booms and absorbent pads that will help contain and remove the oil from the water.
Central One Bataan extends its heartfelt thanks to all the employees who generously supported this project. Your contributions reflect the spirit of solidarity and care for the environment. Together, we are not just preventing further damage to the marine ecosystem but also setting an example of how small efforts can lead to significant positive change.
